Job Summary
Registered Nurse on a Cardiac ICU/Heart Failure unit. Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and communicating plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, supervising non-RN staff, and serving as charge nurse. Demonstrates neuro and cardiac-focused competencies (neuro assessments, airway management, suctioning, tracheostomy care) and familiarity with advanced cardiac devices and therapies (mechanical circulatory support, LVAD, ECMO, IABP, Impella). Provides education and supports ongoing staff development; acts as preceptor to new staff; supports discharge planning and patient/family education. BSN-preferred; current BCLS required or obtained within one month; licensed RN in CT.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
