Job Summary
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the Congestive Heart Failure Unit provides patient-centered nursing care in a cardiovascular inpatient setting. Responsibilities include following ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, coordinating with patients, families, and healthcare team, delivering care according to established nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, evaluation), and contributing to quality outcomes. The unit network covers multiple cardiac units (including medical, intermediate care, step-down, and telemetry) with a focus on post-operative care for cardiac procedures and heart failure management. Requirements include CT RN licensure, BSN preferred, BCLS certification (within one month of hire), and opportunity for specialty certification encouragement. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, ethics, cultural congruence, and continuous professional development within the YNHHS framework.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN preferred.
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire.
