Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise certified nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies. Lead daily nursing activities, promote holistic care, ensure policy compliance, assist with admissions/discharges/ transfers, assess resident status and notify physicians as needed, transcribe orders, prepare/observe medications, perform wound care, coordinate follow-up appointments and transportation, provide nursing leadership to unit staff, perform rounds, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, report incidents, maintain medication/supply stock, initiate and update care plans, participate in surveys and QAPI as needed, ensure infection control, and report any abuse or mistreatment. Education: nursing degree; Licenses: RN in practicing state; Experience: 1+ year in geriatrics; Skills: compassion, direct patient care, coordination with CNAs and other team members. Weekend differential $3.00/hour and sign-on bonus for full-time position are noted in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state
- 1+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in geriatrics
- Ability to demonstrate compassion when working with residents
- Direct nursing care and supervision of certified nursing assistants in accordance with regulations and policies
- Direct care skills such as medication administration, wound care, IV administration, colostomy changes, and related tasks per physician orders
