Job Summary
Lead RN/Charge Nurse on the CVICU unit coordinates patient care and oversees nursing staff, ensuring safe, efficient care and alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include adjusting assignments by acuity, mentoring staff, maintaining environmental safety and infection control, communicating with patients/families, rounding on patients, serving as a clinical resource and role model, potential precepting, interprofessional collaboration, quality monitoring and performance improvement initiatives, appropriate patient placement and discharge processes, conflict resolution, and adherence to nursing practice standards. Requires current RN license (state or compact) and BLS; various advanced certifications are preferred.
