Job Summary
Per Diem Corrections Nurse role providing direct and individualized nursing care to inmate patients within a correctional facility. Responsibilities include performing assessments in multiple settings (initial intake, health care unit, housing units, chronic care clinics), coordinating and administering medications and treatments, collaborating with primary care providers, maintaining infection control and safety standards, and delivering patient education and discharge planning. Requires shift coverage on 7:00–19:30 and 19:00–07:30 with rotating weekends; involves night, weekend, and holiday work; must maintain HIPAA and PREA compliance, security clearance, and adapt to various clinical environments.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
- Hands-On CPR certified.
- Must conform to the security standards of the institution where employed.
