Job Summary
Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and defining interventions while reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating care objectives to the healthcare team. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; teach self-care skills regarding conditions and medications; and evaluate patient outcomes against therapeutic standards. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication protocols, and controlled substance regulations; document services in patient records; and ensure equipment and supplies are operational and stocked. Work day shifts Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:00am to 3:30pm as part of a multidisciplinary team at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
- An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- The ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- The ability to communicate effectively with others
- The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years Experience working in a clinical environment
