Job Summary
Provide nursing care in the EP lab and Cardiac Cath Lab departments. Interpret cardiac arrhythmias, administer IV and PO drugs, and manage conscious sedation medications. Evaluate patients, perform physical assessments, and operate special equipment including monitors, infusion pumps, temporary pacemakers, and defibrillators. Maintain current California RN licensure, BCLS, and ACLS certification while completing required safety and cultural sensitivity classes. This role supports a nonprofit regional healthcare network serving approximately 3.7 million residents across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Gabriel Valley counties.
Required Qualifications
- Interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias
- Knowledge of diagnostic tests and their preparations
- Knowledge and experience with administering of IV and PO drugs and their possible adverse reactions
- Competent with patient evaluation, physical assessment, and interviewing techniques
- Knowledge in the legal aspects of nursing
- Successfully passing safety, cultural sensitivity, and blood pathogen classes
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill using special equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, temporary pacemakers, O2 equipment, SPO2 monitors, EKG machines, defibrillators, etc
- Graduated from an approved School of Nursing
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in California
- BCLS and ACLS certification
- Evidence of continuing education and self-development
- Minimum of one year experience in a Electrophysiology Lab
- Demonstrates teaching ability in a formal and/or informal setting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Two-year experience in Cath/EP Lab
