Job Summary
Provide evidence-based clinical care to designated patients at the Cancer Institute Radiation Therapy within the Edgewood Cancer Center. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to established ethical codes and nursing standards while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed health care team members. Demonstrate competence in mathematical calculations for medication administration and safely perform nursing skills and procedures. Work full-time, 32 hours per week, 1st shift (8a-4:30p), with hours subject to variation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
- Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence
- Meets contact hour requirements for licensure
- Includes all state-required courses
- Focus of education promotes nurses' ability to practice in clinical area assigned
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory
- Demonstrates knowledge of clinical practice standards
- Demonstrates knowledge of procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge of policies
- Competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration
- Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures
- Successful completion of preceptorship
- Successful completion of orientation to the facility
- Successful completion of orientation to the clinical area
- Able to critically think
- Able to problem solve in routine situations
- Able to problem solve in emergency situations
