Job Summary
Provide daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort for residents by conducting professional assessments and documenting their physical and mental conditions. Participate in developing and implementing resident care plans, including maintaining up-to-date nursing care plans and MDS documentation. Perform routine nursing procedures while working closely with physicians and families to maintain resident health states. Offer emotional support to residents and families, handling complaints, allegations, accidents, or incidents as they occur. Complete medical record documentation, including 24-hour and end-of-shift reports, shift narcotic counts, and documenting medication destruction. Maintain up-to-date resident medical records and ensure compliance with facility policies and HIPAA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- possess a valid RN License in good standing according to State and Federal requirements
- Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Florida
- Have basic computer skills along with knowledge of such programs as Excel, Word, etc.
- Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitor, government agencies and personnel
- The ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Compliance and HIPAA
- Knowledge on the use of personal computers, Word and Excel, and working with office machines such as fax and copying machines
