Job Summary
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, you will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will operate under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the Center Physician for medical issues, with familiarity in plasma donation regulations and EHS guidance. Responsibilities include obtaining informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, reviewing SPE electrophoresis results, evaluating donor reactions, following SOPs for emergencies, and coordinating with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues. You will support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) and manage employee incidents with EHS guidance. The role may involve pandemic coordination when authorized by EHS and Medical Affairs. Requirements include a nursing program graduate diploma and an active RN/NP/PA license, CPR/AED, IV therapy prerequisites, FDA training, and two years of clinical experience. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Current RN, NP, or PA license in the state where responsibilities will be assigned
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
