Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Behavioral Health Intake Department provides safe, high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans. Works with the ED-based Behavioral Health nurses and collaborates with psychiatrists to determine disposition, administers treatments and physician orders, documents patient care, educates patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs, and maintains compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, leadership, and teamwork in daily nursing practice to support positive patient outcomes and continuity of care within a psychiatric/behavioral health setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Current Kentucky RN license or Kentucky work permit
- Associate degree required; BSN preferred
- No experience required; patient care experience preferred
- BLS through the American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire
- Glucometer Training Aegis Training RN Patient Deterioration Life Threatening Arrhythmia Nurse Wound Care Training
- Licensure/Training compliance with hospital policies and continuing education standards
