Job Summary
Accurately perform patient assessments, identify needs, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions for adult and geriatric patients in a 33-bed Behavioral Health Unit. Provide care tailored to condition and age while managing diagnoses including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Substance Use Disorder. Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans, perform timely documentation, and conduct quality improvement assessments. Handle patients presenting with psychosis, suicidal ideation, or mania within a 1:6-1:9 nurse-to-patient ratio. Requires a current NC or compact RN license, AHA BLS within 30 days, and ACLS/PALS within six months. Work a 3x12 day shift (7a-7p) with weekends and holidays required.
Required Qualifications
- current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license
- associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification
- AHA ACLS certification
- AHA PALS certification
