Job Summary
Delivers nursing care by developing diagnoses, establishing objectives, and defining interventions for patients, families, and friends while providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support. Reviews physician prescriptions, communicates care plans to the multidisciplinary team, and coordinates with healthcare providers. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting physical and psychological status. Teaches healthcare requirements by instructing patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Evaluates patient care by measuring health outcomes against standards and modifying care plans as needed. Maintains a safe environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication protocols, and controlled substance regulations. Documents services in patient records and keeps equipment operating through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Works rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
- An active license in the state of practice
- The ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- The ability to communicate effectively with others
- The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
