Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, medical history reviews, and physical examinations. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on assessments and physician orders. Safely administer medications, IV therapy, and injections while monitoring treatments like wound and catheter care. Educate patients and families on health conditions and preventive measures. Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate comprehensive care. For specialized units, manage critical care patients by monitoring life-support systems and responding to emergencies. Accurately document all care aspects in the electronic health record system. Adhere to hospital policies to maintain high standards of care and infection control. Requires an active Indiana RN license, BLS certification, and experience in clinical settings.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Indiana
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients as needed
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and physical endurance
Desired Qualifications
- Specialized experience in ICU, ER, or long-term care
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and other specialty certifications
- Previous experience in a clinical setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficient in medication administration and use of medical technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple priorities
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
