Job Summary
Deliver patient-centered care in a 21-bed Total Joint & Orthopedic Unit, administering medications, performing baseline assessments, and documenting nursing diagnoses and interventions per hospital policy. Provide life-span education, evaluate patient outcomes, and recognize changes in condition to take immediate action during emergencies. Function as a Resource Nurse, delegate tasks to non-professional caregivers, and mentor students and new staff. Maintain competency in indwelling urinary catheter care, float between units for 1:1 observation when needed, and participate in unit conferences to drive quality improvement. Requires current NJ RN license, CPR certification, and ACLS within the first year.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year acute care RN experience
- Current NJ RN license
- CPR Certification
- ACLS certification to be achieved within first year then maintained thereafter
- Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course to be achieved with first year
- CSMC IV Certification to be achieved within first year
- Stroke Education requirements to be achieved with first year then maintained thereafter
- Ability and willingness to float between units as an RN
- Provide 1:1 patient observation when deemed necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Specialty professional nursing certification preferred
