Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) responsible for monitoring and providing personal nursing care and leadership to the nursing staff to assure care standards are met and high-quality resident care is delivered. Assists the DON with planning, organizing, developing and directing the Nursing Department’s operations and manages resources. Includes assessing new residents, making daily unit rounds, observing residents’ physical and emotional status, revising care plans, coordinating with medical staff, residents, families, and visitors, ensuring dignified care, supervising documentation, participating in on-call rotation, and leading staff development to maintain licensure and certification. Ensures a clean, safe environment and maintains compliance with departmental and regulatory standards, while providing leadership and fostering loyalty to the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Ohio
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an approved RN program
- 5 years prior RN Nursing Supervisory experience, preferably in a long-term care center
- Must maintain CPR certification
- Knowledge of nursing practices, standards of practice and state practice acts and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care
- Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with staff and residents
