Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants to ensure high-quality care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Plan and oversee daily nursing activities, administer medications, and complete required documentation while maintaining patient confidentiality. Perform professional services such as catheterization, wound care, and IV care, and coordinate with physicians to follow safety protocols. Foster a warm, collaborative environment by communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff, and assist with activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement. Adapt to changing resident needs and take on additional duties within your scope of knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current unencumbered state license
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing & medical practices & procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
- CPR and First Aid certifications are required
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable while handling multiple priorities
- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Competent in organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100
- Must be able to cope with the mental & emotional stress of the position
- Visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Long Term Care is preferred
