Job Summary
Deliver safe care to assigned patients within the VA Finger Lakes Health Care System, including conducting initial assessments, recognizing abnormal signs, and initiating follow-up. Utilize the CPRS and BCMA software per policy, ensure VA/JCAHO standards are met, and document in VA records per guidelines. Involve patients and families in care planning, revise plans as needed based on evaluations, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity while performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program; current RN license in any state
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Active RN in an acute or long-term setting for at least the last two years
- Capable of providing complex and comprehensive nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- No sponsorship available
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach; lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull with 30 lbs of force
