Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in an Ambulatory Surgery Center performing perioperative and post-anesthesia care. Responsible for assessing patient conditions, delivering safe nursing care, coordinating interventions for procedures, monitoring patients undergoing anesthesia or sedation (airway management and safety), administering treatments, and ensuring safe discharge. Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams; participates in post-operative communication, chart review, infection control, stocking, and quality improvement initiatives. Flexible PRN schedule with on-call coverage; minimum one shift per month to maintain competency; opportunity to contribute to infection control, quality initiatives, and operational excellence. Requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
- Minimum 2 years of PACU, Pre/Post Recovery, OR, or procedural nursing experience
- Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting, preferred
- ACLS and PALS certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire, preferred
