Job Summary
Registered Nurse with 5+ years cardiovascular/transplant experience to coordinate transplant candidate evaluations, arrange diagnostic testing, provide patient and family education, and manage discharge planning and consent processes. Works with surgeons, nephrologists, transplant cardiologists and other team members; communicates with physicians, home care, and insurance providers; monitors immunosuppression and maintains transplant records. Supports physician outreach, community events, and program growth for the Living Kidney Donor Program. Schedule includes 10-hour shifts, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, with 24/7 RN on-call coverage rotating every 11–12 weeks; requires BLS and ABTC certification within specified timelines and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state where the team member practices
- Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification by ABTC to be obtained within 2 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by AHA to be obtained within 6 months unless exempt by department leadership
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Typically 5 years cardiovascular/clinical practice experience (cardiac transplant/end-stage cardiac disease/end-stage liver or renal disease)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize work
- Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification requirements must be maintained
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, 20 lbs overhead, push/pull 30 lbs, and assist patient transfers
