Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive adult care for elderly patients on the 6A Acute Care for Elderly unit, managing five medical patients per shift who may present with surgical issues, stroke recovery, COPD, dementia, or UTIs. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including nurses, physicians, pharmacy staff, and therapists to address complex health conditions requiring compassionate, comprehensive approaches. Maintain DE RN licensure with one year of inpatient hospital experience and complete BLS certification. Work the 7p-7a night shift including weekends and holidays with a 20% shift differential. Join ChristianaCare's Level-I Trauma center, recognized nationally for adult procedures and trauma care.
Required Qualifications
- DE RN License or a Compact Nursing License
- one year of experience in an inpatient hospital setting
- A demonstrated passion for working with older adults
- BLS
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Gerontology Certification
