Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care for GYN and post-surgical patients on the Women's Unit, performing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate interdisciplinary rounds and documentation while partnering with patients and families to set care goals. Mentor staff and students, participate in shared governance activities, and lead performance improvement initiatives to address clinical questions and reduce adverse events. Maintain current certifications and complete mandatory education under the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. Night shift (7 pm - 7 am).
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in nursing
- Graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
- Reg Nurse (Single State) 1.00 Upon Hire
- RN - Multi-state Compact 1.00 Upon Hire
- Basic Life Support 2.00
- BLS - Instructor 2.00
- BLS - Provisional 2.00
- Neonatal Resuscitation Prvdr 3.00
- NRP - Instructor 3.00
- NRP-Provisional 3.00
- Minimum 2 years direct patient care experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
- Optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner
- Possess excellent time management skills
