Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, diagnoses, and evaluations for acute care patients while implementing evidence-based care plans. Coordinate interdisciplinary rounds and documentation to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes and maintain respectful communication with families. Serve as a preceptor or mentor to support new staff and students, fostering a healthy clinical environment. Uphold Wellstar policies, the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, and American Nurses Association standards through proactive participation in performance improvement and shared governance initiatives. Maintain ACLS and BLS certifications and apply critical thinking skills in a fast-paced setting. Requires 5+ years of acute care experience, an RN license, and strong English proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act license
- Knowledge of the American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards
- Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- Minimum 5 years relevant, recent, acute care clinical nursing experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
- Optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills
- Possess strong critical thinking skills
