Job Summary
RN Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered care in a 28-bed post-surgical with telemetry med-surg unit, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process (assessment to evaluation), coordinating care, documenting safely, and participating in performance improvement and professional development. The role emphasizes relationship-based care, cultural sensitivity, teaching patients and families, and supporting governance and standards of practice. Required experience includes at least 2 years of direct patient care; certifications include RN (compact or single-state) and BLS. This is a full-time day-shift role at Wellstar Health System’s Georgia campus network (Whitesburg, KY).
Required Qualifications
- Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies
- Excellent time management and critical thinking skills
