Job Summary
Provide competent nursing care on the Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit by performing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, coordination, teaching, and evaluation. Manage patients with heart failure, rhythm disturbances, post-coronary interventions, pacemakers, defibrillators, myocardial infarctions, and acute strokes, including pre- and post-catheterization care. Utilize critical thinking models and evidence-based practice standards to deliver specialized care. Requires BLS within 90 days, ACLS within one year, and NIH certification within one year; BSN or MSN preferred. Full-time third shift (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) with rotating weekends. Automatic enrollment for RNs with less than 12 months experience through the Transition to Practice Program.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
- BSN or MSN preferred
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
- NIH within 1 year of hire
- Acute care nursing experience preferred
- Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Third (Nights) Work Shift

- Rotating weekend schedule
