Job Summary
Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs, develop nursing care plans, and administer medications per state Nurse Practice Act regulations. Coordinate unit activities, maintain medical records, and document controlled substance counts accurately. Educate patients and families on behavioral health conditions while ensuring physicians' orders are transcribed appropriately. Notify medical staff of significant status changes, including detox difficulties or medical emergencies, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve resident complaints. Maintain professional boundaries and exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients, visitors, and co-workers. Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
- One year of nursing experience
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification
- First aid
