Job Summary
Conduct direct resident assessment and care while supervising nursing personnel in adherence to state, federal, and corporate guidelines. Formulate individualized nursing care plans, assist physicians on rounds, and manage conflict through effective problem-solving and communication skills. Act calmly in emergency situations, dispense medications per physician orders, and maintain accurate resident care records. Participate in resident care meetings, staff meetings, and in-services, while teaching residents, families, and staff. Identify safety hazards and noncompliance with corporate guidelines, ensuring prompt notification of significant health changes to attending physicians and families. Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as facility needs require.
Required Qualifications
- current valid Registered Nurse license issues in the state where the person will practice
- graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Up-to-date physical assessment skills
- comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles
- Must practice good personal hygiene
- follow required dress code
- Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be able to work holidays
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must be able to work in different units
- Must be able to work in different positions
- Must be able to work overtime
Desired Qualifications
- Recent experience in geriatric or rehabilitative nursing
- experience in supervisory capacity
