Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Hospice program provides direct patient care, performs assessments, develops and implements care plans, administers nursing care, and supports patients and families with end-of-life education and coordination with an interdisciplinary team. The role requires compliance with physician orders, plan of care adjustments, documentation in electronic medical records, and adherence to HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Education includes an Associate degree in Nursing with licensure as a Montana RN; preferred BSN and hospice/palliative care experience. Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care in a home/hospice setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Experience with hospice/palliative care
- Knowledge of nursing process and hospice and palliative care regulations preferred.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in Montana.
- Valid State of Montana Driver’s License and vehicle insurance (if Hospice, Home Health, and/or Public Health)
- Current BLS certification
- Computer literacy, in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor during difficult interactions.
- Ability to display non-judgmental and empathetic listening skills.
- High degree of detail-oriented skill level.
- Knowledge and understanding of protected sensitive patient health information (HIPAA) and confidentiality.
