Job Summary
Registered Nurse in Respiratory Rehab/RCC at UHN (West Park Healthcare Centre) providing professional nursing care within an inter-professional, primary nursing model. Plan, manage, and evaluate care for patients and families; educate patients, families, and referring facilities; participate in inter-professional rounds and family conferences; mentor students and new staff; engage in program/hospital-wide initiatives; ensure patient safety and adherence to professional standards; requires Diploma in Nursing with preference for a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and current good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Capable of coordinating admissions, using EPR, and collaborating with an inter-disciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital setting; strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and continuous professional development are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred
- Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Ability to perform essential clinical duties
- Ability to lead others and manage interpersonal situations
- Effective communication, problem-solving and decision-making
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Demonstrated commitment to team success
- Computer literacy and experience with Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems
- Knowledge of College of Nurses of Ontario standards of practice
- Able to perform multiple admissions assessments in EPR daily
- Ability to work cohesively with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
