Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients using the nursing process, therapeutic intervention, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration while managing time, supplies, and resources to ensure effective patient care delivery. Collaboratively develop individualized plans of care with patients, families, and physicians, including education and referrals, and continuously revise plans based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction. Provide accurate and timely documentation, maintain legal and ethical standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Perform duties during 12-hour night shifts, requiring frequent patient transfers, equipment operation, and navigation of busy hospital environments.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to set priorities and to coordinate and organize patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources
