Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct the care team via delegation, coordinate patient care delivery by managing time and resources, and revise care plans based on clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Provide accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards while maintaining professional licensure. Requires a current Registered Nurse license, BLS certification, and a BSN degree; includes a 12-hour night shift schedule with 36 weekly hours. Located at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025
- Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to set priorities and to coordinate and organize patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources
- Must be able to provide accurate & timely documentation
- Must understand legal implications of care delivery
- Must comply with regulatory standards
- Must practice within scope of licensure
- Must integrate legal and ethical standards into practice
- Must promote nursing profession and participate in development of others
- Must be available for Nights 12 hours
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
