Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for respiratory oncology patients using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct care teams through delegation, coordinate patient care delivery, and manage time, supplies, and resources while providing accurate documentation. Collaboratively develop individualized care plans with patients, families, and physicians, including education and referrals, and revise plans based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction. Maintain legal and ethical standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and ensure timely communication with patients, providers, and support staff. Work nights in a 12-hour shift at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, with a weekly schedule of 36 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Degree will be verified
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025
- Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must comply with all applicable Intermountain policies and expectations
- Must acknowledge that outside employment or activities may not interfere with job responsibilities or create a conflict of interest with Intermountain
- Must acknowledge that actual or reasonably perceived conflicts may be grounds for disqualification from consideration or, if hired, corrective action up to and including termination of employment
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
