Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients using the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation and collaboration, while actively seeking patient, family, and physician involvement to develop individualized plans of care. Coordinate patient care delivery by managing time, supplies, and resources, and evaluate patient responses to interventions to revise care plans as needed. Provide accurate and timely documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Perform duties during 12-hour night shifts, requiring the ability to lift heavy items, navigate crowded rooms, and respond quickly to alarms and emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Degree will be verified
- Assess physical, social, and psychological status
- Evaluate patient response to interventions
- Uses assessment information and critical thinking skills
- Collaboratively develop individualized plan of care
- Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration
- Provides or delegates care consistent with plan of care, guidelines of care and professional licensure provisions
- Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and to coordinate and organize patient care delivery
- Effectively managing time, supplies, and resources
- Integrates legal and ethical standards into practice
