Job Summary
Provide quality nursing care to patients in the Rehabilitation/Integrated Stroke, Palliative & Complex Care unit under supervision, following CNO standards. Maintain competence through ongoing continuing education, participate in hospital-wide quality initiatives, and contribute to a patient-centered environment. Demonstrate leadership and the ability to supervise and guide Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers, while collaborating with an interprofessional team to deliver individualized rehabilitation and palliative care.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (BScN) and current member in good standing of the Ontario College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS, First Aid and I.V. Certification and maintained throughout employment
- Current membership in the RNAO preferred
- Previous experience working with stroke patients in an inpatient acute or rehabilitation setting
- Previous experience working within a palliative care setting
- Preference given to those with PIECES, CAPCE training
- Palliative Care Level 1 & 2 (Fundamentals and Enhanced) preferred
- Telemetry training, cardiac concepts certificate or equivalent
- Experience with National Rehabilitation System (NRS) would be an asset
- Computer literacy and teaching experience required
