Job Summary
Manage post-thoracic surgery patients including lobectomy, pneumonectomy, VATS procedures, and chest wall surgeries. Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions including lung cancer. Monitor and manage chest tubes, pleural drains, and post-operative complications. Assess and respond to respiratory compromise, including oxygen therapy, high-flow devices, and non-invasive ventilation. Collaborate closely with the thoracic surgery team and pulmonary interventionalists. Full-time night shift at Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN. Requires Tennessee RN licensure and BLS certification within 30 days, with ACLS required within three months.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition 'Compact State' obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire

- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
