Job Summary
Supervise nursing assistants and coordinate care plans for residents while administering medications, wound care, and treatments per physician orders. Perform nursing assessments, document status changes, and manage medication inventory including narcotics counts. Adjust break schedules, resolve staff complaints, and report shortages to nursing management. Ensure resident safety through the INTERACT program to avoid unplanned discharges. Requires current RN license, CPR certification, and preference for gerontological experience. Located in Jacksonville, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN)
- Current CPR certification
- Prefer 2 years' experience in a long-term care setting
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to communicate orally and through written reports and other documents relating to resident, staff and others
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical journals and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Desired Qualifications
- Additional certification in nursing specialty
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in gerontological nursing
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
