Job Summary
Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients while administering prescribed medications and treatments. Check and record vital signs, triage intake screenings, and collect data for statistical reporting. Collaborate with practitioners to coordinate medical services, maintain aseptic techniques, and provide patient education on facility policies and discharge planning. Document care information accurately, report treatment reactions and condition changes, and notify supervisors of medical or security incidents. Perform duties within the RN scope of practice, including overseeing delegation and participating in in-service education. May cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities or act as a backup to the Site Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
- May be directed to cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities
- May be asked to act as a back-up to the H.S.A/Site Manager
- May be asked to train new hires and coworkers
