Job Summary
Provides professional nursing care and makes nursing care decisions appropriate for the age and condition of the patient using the nursing process. Collaborates with other health care professionals to meet patient needs. Adheres to CVMC/Nursing policies and state Nurse Practice Act while delivering quality patient care. Requires BSN within five years where applicable and maintenance of required certifications (ACLS/NRP, PALS, etc.) across listed units (Birthing Center, Critical Care, ED, Oncology, Psychiatry, etc.). No prior experience required beyond listed practice-area requirements; expects ability to assume call responsibilities within three months.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited nursing program
- Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State
- BCLS certification (AHA or equivalent with 3 months if not AHA)
- BSN or higher nursing degree required within five years from employment/placement into RN position
- Specialty certifications as listed by practice area (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, chemotherapy certification, etc.)
- No previous experience required, except as listed under practice areas
- Ability to meet call responsibilities within three months
