Job Summary
Treat patients, educate them on mental and medical conditions, and provide emotional support to patients and family members. Run therapeutic groups, conduct psychiatric crisis intervention, and manage seclusion and restraint protocols. Record medical histories, assist with diagnostic tests, operate medical machinery, and administer treatments and medications. Teach patients and families on illness management, diet, exercise, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy. Maintain current BLS certification and apply knowledge of Mental Health Laws and interdisciplinary treatment processes. Full-time 12-hour day shift required.
Required Qualifications
- current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
