Job Summary
The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for managing patient care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcomes. The nurse directs and guides the delivery of nursing care, patient education, and all related activities while collaborating with other disciplines to maintain professional standards. The role is in Progressive Care, and requires NY RN licensure, BLS/ACLS with ACLS within 6 months, and completion of cardiac rhythm and stepdown education courses. This is a bargaining union position in a hospital setting (CVPH - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital) in Plattsburgh, NY, with regular night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- BLS or ACLS required with ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
- Meets requirements of physical/pre-placement screening
- Completion of cardiac rhythm course within three-six months
- Completion of stepdown education course within six-twelve months
