Job Summary
Coordinate care across the continuum by planning and implementing clinical protocols, monitoring care, and serving as an expert resource for specialty areas. Partner with nursing leaders to develop and review care protocols, policies, and procedures, while providing managerial oversight for program personnel and assisting in annual strategic and budgetary planning. Evaluate program effectiveness and efficiency by developing process improvement programs, monitoring clinical outcomes and quality of care, and outlining corrective actions. Monitor patient perception of care quality and contribute to patient experience efforts. Act as a consultant and liaison for various stakeholders within the new Ortho Surgery department at Lutheran Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated expertise in disease specific care
- Proven applicable nursing experience over several years
- Demonstrated experience with quality management programs including registry data collection
- Proficient in computer skills, including creating graphs, tables, and trend reports
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, data organization, management, and analysis skills
- Demonstrated experience in educational program development
- Can choose between Five - 8hr Shifts or Four - 10hr Shifts
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 Years Ortho or Neuro Surgery Circulating Experience in a Level I or II hospital setting
- At least one year RN coordinator or Charge RN experience
- Current specialty certification(s) as appropriate for unit or service
