Job Summary
PRN Registered Nurse for night shifts at Grand Traverse County Correctional Facility in Traverse City, MI and related MI site. Responsibilities include timely assessment and delivery of nursing care, administering prescribed medications and treatments, triage and intake screening, documenting findings accurately, maintaining aseptic techniques, monitoring vital signs and laboratory data as appropriate, providing patient education, coordinating multiple medical services, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. The role may require coverage at multiple correctional facilities and may involve back-up duties for site management; candidates must maintain active RN licensure in the state and BLS certification, with strong documentation skills and knowledge of RN scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state where services are provided
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of RN scope of practice
- May be directed to cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities
- HIPAA compliance
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Drug administration knowledge
