Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care in the PACU setting while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. This role requires obtaining and maintaining a current RN license, completing BLS certification within 30 days, and meeting state board requirements. Candidates may be required to hold or acquire additional certifications such as ACLS, ALS, NRP, or TNCC based on unit needs. The position involves prolonged standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Ability to stand and walk during each shift

- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
