Job Summary
Provide professional care to pediatric patients aged 0 to 18 in the Pediatric ICU, Pediatric unit, PIMU, and PKIR, utilizing the nursing process and therapeutic use of self. Supervise patient care within a multidisciplinary team that conducts daily family-centered rounds with physicians, child life specialists, and social services. Adhere to established policies while maintaining restricted access protocols and security tags for patient safety. Work per diem shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, including weekends and holidays, with a Level Two Pool schedule requiring three weekend shifts every six weeks and four holiday shifts annually. Maintain current NJ-RN licensure, BLS certification, and preferred CNOR certification.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years minimum RN pediatrics acute care experience
- Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
- Per Diem,7PM-7AM, weekends and holidays required
- Level Two Pool Work Requirements: Nurses shall work at least three (3) weekend shifts per six (6) week schedule, and six other shifts per six (6) week schedule, which must include four(4) holiday shifts per year (two (2) winter and two (2) summer)
- Weekend shifts are defined as Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift and Saturday/Sunday for the day shift
- The 3rd weekend shift can be the RNs choice
- Nurses must schedule themselves for the full shift, as assigned, in order to meet these work requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Current NJ-CNOR (Certified Nurse, Operating Room) preferred
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
