Job Summary
Conduct patient care for a designated group within the medical-surgical unit, utilizing the nursing process and therapeutic use of self. Supervise and provide care to patients while following established policies, communicating openly with supervisors, and interfacing with physicians and all staff levels. Maintain current NJ-RN licensure, BLS certification, and CNOR preference. Work nights from 7 pm to 7 am, including weekends and holidays, with a Level II pool schedule requiring three weekend shifts and four holiday shifts per six-week cycle.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years of acute care RN experience
- at least one of these years being in the specialty area in which you are applying
- Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
- Hours: 7 pm -7 am
- weekends required
- holidays required
- Level II Pool Work Requirements: Nurses shall work at least three (3) weekend shifts per six (6) week schedule
- six other shifts per six (6) week schedule
- four(4) holiday shifts per year (two (2) winter and two (2) summer)
- Weekend shifts are defined as Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift and Saturday/Sunday for the day shift
- the 3rd weekend shift can be the RNs choice
- Nurses must schedule themselves for the full shift, as assigned, in order to meet these work requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Current NJ-CNOR (Certified Nurse, Operating Room) preferred
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
