Job Summary
Registered Nurse (PRN Float Pool) providing nursing care in correctional facilities. Responsibilities include assessing and planning nursing care, administering medications and treatments, providing emergency first aid, monitoring vital signs and other diagnostics, triage inmate needs, ensuring infection control, maintaining documentation and HIPAA compliance, coordinating multiple medical services, educating patients about facility policies and discharge planning, and supporting supervisory duties as needed. Requires active RN license in the state of service and BLS certification; strong documentation and knowledge of RN scope of practice are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
