Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care in hospice with initial and ongoing patient and family assessments; deliver professional nursing care using the nursing process; establish, implement, and revise a plan of care based on patient status and nursing diagnoses; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team; educate patient and family/caregiver in self-care techniques; document pain/symptom management and report changes to physicians; travel within the Bristol Hospice Service Area to support coverage for PTO and sick time; join a team that emphasizes integrity, trust, excellence, accountability, and mutual respect.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least one (1) year of acute care experience in an institutional setting
- One (1) year of experience in home care preferred
- Must have a current licensure in the state
- Must understand the philosophy of hospice concept and understand needs of the terminally ill
- Must be flexible in work hours
- Must demonstrate nursing skills per competency checklist
- Must demonstrate a willingness to maintain comprehensive working knowledge regarding information systems and applicable software programs
- Ability to travel throughout the Bristol Hospice Service Area
