Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse position at Mercer County Prison, Mercer, PA, providing nursing care in the medical unit with inmates/patients. Responsibilities include ensuring nursing practice meets established standards, assessing and delivering comprehensive treatment, monitoring services to avoid duplication, advising supervisors on efficiency and cost containment, coordinating staff meetings, maintaining accurate records for controlled substances, providing health counseling, conducting sick calls, documenting symptoms and progress, implementing care plans to promote well-being, taking vital signs at the start of each shift, and completing a two-week orientation with on-the-job training and shadowing. Requires PA RN license and strong patient assessment, clinical decision-making, independent function, and communication skills.
