Job Summary
Deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Direct patient/family teaching and guide activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional standards in Telemetry. Communicate with physicians regarding changes in clinical conditions, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology, responding quickly to treatment changes. Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and report child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Workers. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality throughout care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current
- ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current
- EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education
- Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current
- Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred
