Job Summary
Prepare patients for surgery and manage recovery in Phase II, handling approximately 20-35 cases daily across Pre-Op and PACU areas. Assess physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs; evaluate patient responses; and implement care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Administer IVs, wound care, medications, and catheterization while maintaining confidential chart documentation. Provide patient and family education based on learning readiness. Float between Pre-Op and Phase II units, manage pre-op calls and transports, and cover recoveries from other departments including the GI Lab. This PRN role includes weekend on-call rotation and operates Monday through Friday from 05:15 to 20:30.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
- RN License in state of employment
- Previous PACU/ICU/ED experience
- 1 year minimum experience
- Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally
- up to 20 lbs. frequently
- up to 10 lbs. constantly
- Must be available for weekends
- Must be available for holidays (On Call)
- 6 times per six months call requirement (3 Primary and 3 Secondary)
